I from recognize that the Earth is my greater home. It gives me air to breathe, water to drink, and food to eat. But I see that my home is in trouble, the air is polluted, the water in rivers is dirty, temperatures are rising, and the climate is changing fast, bringing more heatwaves and floods.

I understand that every time I use any material, electricity or fuel, buy something new, or throw something away it pollutes air, water, and soil, creates waste, and adds to climate change.

I accept this truth I am responsible. And I accept my duty to leave behind a clean and liveable planet for my children, for others, and for all life on Earth.

I understand that the size of our planet and all its resources is finite, and that on a finite Earth, endless consumption is not possible.

Today humanity consumes the resources of 1.8 Earths, but we have only one. I pledge to live within one Earth by reducing my consumption. I understand that my income and capacity to buy may grow, but nature's capacity to supply does not.

I pledge to limit my consumption, because I can afford more – but nature cannot.

From today, I pledge to be mindful of every use of material, every unit of energy, every item I buy. I will take only what I truly need, repair and share what I can, and waste nothing. With awareness, restraint, and respect, I join the Finite Earth Movement to protect our shared home.

मैं से यह स्वीकार करता/करती हूँ कि पृथ्वी मेरा विस्तृत और वास्तविक घर है। यही मुझे शुद्ध हवा, पीने का पानी और भोजन प्रदान करती है। किन्तु, आज पृथ्वी गंभीर संकट का सामना कर रही है – हवा प्रदूषित है, नदियाँ दूषित हैं, तापमान बढ़ रहा है, और जलवायु तेजी से बदल रही है, जिससे हीटवेव और बाढ़ की आपदाएँ बढ़ रही हैं।

मैं समझता/समझती हूँ कि जब भी मैं कोई वस्तु उपयोग करता/करती हूँ — सामग्री, बिजली, ईंधन, नया सामान खरीदना या कोई चीज़ फेंकना — इससे वायु, जल और मिट्टी प्रदूषित होते हैं, कचरा बढ़ता है और जलवायु परिवर्तन तेज होता है।

मैं स्वीकार करता/करती हूँ कि इस समस्या के लिए मैं भी उत्तरदायी हूँ। मेरा कर्तव्य है कि मैं बच्चों, समाज और पृथ्वी के सभी जीवों के लिए स्वच्छ और सुरक्षित ग्रह छोड़कर जाऊँ।

मैं समझता/समझती हूँ कि पृथ्वी और उसके संसाधन सीमित (Finite) हैं। सीमित पृथ्वी पर असीमित उपभोग संभव नहीं है।

आज मानवता 1.8 पृथ्वियों के बराबर संसाधन उपयोग कर रही है, जबकि हमारे पास केवल एक पृथ्वी है।

इसलिए मैं प्रतिज्ञा करता/करती हूँ कि मैं अपनी खपत कम करूँगा/करूँगी और एक पृथ्वी की क्षमता के अनुरूप जीवन जिऊँगा/जिऊँगी।

आज से मैं संकल्प लेता/लेती हूँ कि केवल आवश्यक वस्तुओं का उपयोग करूँगा/करूँगी, मरम्मत व पुनः उपयोग को प्राथमिकता दूँगा/दूँगी, ज़रूरत पड़ने पर वस्तुएँ साझा करूँगा/करूँगी और कचरा न्यूनतम रखूँगा/रखूँगी। सजगता, संयम और सम्मान के साथ मैं Finite Earth Movement से जुड़ता/जुड़ती हूँ।
