A proactive effort aimed at combating climate change by encouraging individuals to minimize their environmental footprint through changes in behavior. Wear non-ironed clothes every Monday and save your carbon emission
About Climate Correction Day (WAH Challenge)
The "Climate Correction Day (CCD) Challenge" is a proactive effort aimed at combating climate change by encouraging individuals to minimize their environmental footprint through changes in behaviour. The consumption of energy and materials contributes to emissions and environmental harm, but conserving them equates to preserving the environment and endorsing climate-friendly solutions. Under this, Wrinkles ache hai! challenge is thrown in which people wh are participating have to wear non ironed cloths every Monday to reduce the carbon emission occurring through ironing the cloths.
How does this Challenge help in Climate Correction?
The challenge requires you to refrain from wearing ironed clothes on Monday, which means actually not ironing clothes.
- Operating an iron uses 800-1200W of power, 20-30 times more than a bulb.
- 74% of electricity in India is produced using coal.
- Ironing just one set of clothes for a family of 5 can result in emission of around 1 kg of CO2.
- It means ironing one pair of clothes results in about 100-200g of CO2 emission.
Benefits of taking part in the Challenge
Not ironing means saving so much CO2 emission.
- Save energy and electricity for you and for the country and save money
- Lessens your carbon footprint
- Proudly become a part of Mission LiFE of Hon. Prime Minister of India.
