About the Mentorship Program

Energy Swaraj Foundation is launching Energy & Climate Mentorship program. This will comes under G20 initiatives of ‘Youth Action for Climate Change'. This mentorship will provided to members / students of organization through fellows associated with Energy Swaraj Foundation. The exposure through fellows will provide the members of organization an idea about the current climate changing scenarios, empowering them towards sustainability, and initiating actions towards mitigating climate change.

This will be a hands-on mentorship, which will include training while in action. The fellows associated with Energy Swaraj Foundation will visit the organization across country, stay with them for couple of weeks and initiate climate corrective actions and train for it.

Mentorship Time Period

The Mentorship program will of 15-20 days for an organization. Under the guidance of the Energy Swaraj Foundation, the organization has to get involve in maximum number of activities related to climate corrective action.

The organization’s members and students will get training to take climate corrective actions. Energy Swaraj Foundation will be guiding the organization free of cost.

Action to be performed

To implement and execute actions to mitigate climate change, Energy Swaraj Foundation brings in programs that can step by step contribute to bundled actions. This program comes under Action for Climate Corrections which has described below:

Energy Literacy Training

Energy Literacy Training includes the understanding of energy generation, its consumption, its use, misuse and inefficient use, opportunities to conserve energy and generate clean energy. It includes 12 modules of 15 minutes each. Each module is enjoyable and engages with participants by means of examples, exercises and simple multiple choice questions. Energy Literacy Training would help individuals as well as institutions to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 7, 12 and 13.

The fellows will encourage all the members or students

  • To take the first step for climate correction i.e become energy literate.
  • To make them understand the significance of getting energy conscious and sustainable use of energy.
  • Their involvement with the organization will also help in impact assessment for Energy Literacy Training.

Reduce Electricity Consumption (REC)

One of the easily quantifiable use of energy is use of electricity. As we are growing economically and availability of electricity improved, the mis-use, over-use, and in-efficient use of electricity has also improved. Energy Swaraj Foundation has devised a methodology to encourage people to reduce their electricity consumption, without affecting their operations. Based on the methodology, members of institution

  • Encouraged to take part and reduce the electricity consumption of their campus.
  • Suggested different ways should adopt to reduce the consumption of electricity and
  • Continuously monitor the reduced amount of electricity.

Ek Kamra Solar Ka (EKSK)

Today solar technologies have become technologically advanced and economically viable however, there are apprehensions about the use of solar energy like the solar system’s cost, its maintenance, performance and availability etc. The EKSK initiatives makes it easy for people to start their solar journey with solar powering one room in their house, schools, colleges or commercial organization.

  • For this, fellows will train the members about the solar PV system, installation process etc.
  • The organizations has to atleast make one room fully solar powered.
  • Fellows will help the organization in shifting the room/s to solar powered technically as well.

Solar Lamp Assembly Training

The Solar Lamp is a very versatile lamp. It was demonstrated to be used for many activities; students can use this lamp for study purposes, housewives can use it for cooking, adults can use this and make it as part of their livelihood. This helps people to gain confidence on use of solar energy, ease of assembly and repair and increases their willingness to pay. For many, the solar lamp becomes the first experience to use solar energy before they adopt solar energy in a big way.

  • Fellows will provide the hands-on initial experience to various organizations
  • They will train students on assembling the solar lamps.
  • All the members will get to know the significance of solar power based on this training.

Awareness through events organized by ESF

Energy Swaraj Foundation organises various event to aware the masses about the climate change and solar energy.

  • Institutions are expected to take part in those events and initiatives
  • Fellows will encourage and guide the organizations to take part in the events
  • The organization members and students will get encouragement for using energy in sustainable and conscious way
  • Run small programs in organizations itself which contributes to climate correction.
